Zinc Oxide Eugenol Dental Cement is a material created by the combination of zinc oxide and eugenol through an acid-base reaction takes place with the formation of zinc eugenolate chelate. It is classified as an intermediate restorative material and has anaesthetic and antibacterial properties.  The ingredients shown below are common ingredients used in the formation of this dental cement.

Glacial Acetic Acid USP is a weak organic acid and has a distinctive sour taste and pungent smell. It is the main component of vinegar after water (8% by volume).  In its Glacial form (undiluted), it is used as a polar protic solvent and is a key component in the liquid portion of a zinc oxide eugenol dental cement.

Calcium Chloride Dihydrate, USP is a pharmaceutical grade chemical that is manufactured, packaged and stored under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).  The addition of calcium chloride provided a significant reduction in the initial setting time of dental cements.

EU110 | Eugenol, USP

Eugenol USP is a common ingredient in dental products such as dental cements and mouthwash. The compound has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties and can be combined with zinc oxide to form a dental cement.

Magnesium Oxide, Light Powder, USP is a white solid mineral that is hygroscopic.  It is used in dental cements to strengthen bonding.  Spectrum Chemical manufactured USP products are manufactured, packaged and stored under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Magnesium Oxide, Heavy Powder, USP  is a white solid mineral that is hygroscopic.   It is used in dental cements to strengthen bonding.  Spectrum Chemical manufactured USP products are manufactured, packaged and stored under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, NF is used in fillers in different dental filling materials such as glass-ionomer and zinc-based cements to improve the mechanical properties by increasing physical resistance and reduce polymerization shrinkage.

Purified Water, USP is widely used as an solvent ingredient in dental products such as teeth whiteners and dental cements.

Zinc Oxide, USP is an inorganic compound that is a common ingredient in dental cements for its antibacterial properties and zinc oxide is on the U.S. FDA's list of generally recognized as safe, or GRAS, substances.

Zinc Acetate USP is a dihydrate and a colorless solid.  It is commonly used to create other zinc based salts as well as polymers such as dental cements.
